Raised by a music therapist, she was encouraged to sing from a young age (songs like “Tomorrow” from Annie or "Yesterday" by the Beatles) and was performing as young as 6 years old. The sound system in the household was a big inspiration for the development of her music ear. Her father played jazz/blues guitar and piano; she would hear musical style ranges from Keith Jarret to Johnny Winter. When it was her mom’s turn to use the stereo, she was exposed to music from Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Bic Runga to Stevie Wonder and MichaelJackson.
